As always, there are many opportunities for our Club to serve others in need in the St. Louis area. We have worked with these groups in the past:
• Since 2017, our International Philanthropy helps fight hunger. Even here in St. Louis, we have many people who deal with food insecurity. We have partnered with the St. Louis Area Foodbank in Bridgeton and plan to continue. Some ways we can help include donations (every $25 pays for 100 meals), collecting food and delivering it to them, and /or volunteering to work a shift to process the food (there are four daily 2-hour shifts, six days a week).
• Isaiah 58 Ministries, which serves South St. Louis by supplying emergency provisions and basic needs through a food pantry and thrift store.
• Lydia’s House, whose mission is to work in faith to end domestic violence by being a place of healing and a voice of hope for abused women and their children. For many years, we have sent help at Christmas and plan to continue!
We are so pleased that several of our local organizations fighting hunger have received grants from the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation:
Feed My People (2017-2020) $13,250
Food Bank of Central and Northwest Missouri (2017-2021) $23,000
St. Louis Area Foodbank (2019-2021) $5,000
